WLE week # 10

I wnet today and I just waited until my mentor marrisa to get there while i waited i edited some artciles that students from everret middle schoool have written to go in a newspaper they have going on at their school and then I filed some papers like volounteer applications and i edited more papers and even made changes on them on the computer later on it got kind of boring until the kids came they where really coola and funny and this boy named adrian which i was going to tutor but he was not listening to me he just kept palying with hes toys and running around he drinked 5 milk cartons all at the same timne vbecause he thousgfht that if he would do taht someone would give him a dollar which we didnt and I got to tutor a girl named Jennifer she came from Mexico and she was really funny and sweet she remindeed me of me when i was in kindergarden I wiill keep on attending my wle until i have my hours completed My project i think im going to combine with iris and scoot and scoot can play Mr blue which is a character that is mean and grouchy and talks to the kids when we have them come in for workdhops me and iris can explain our tutoring program and many new things we got to do at our WLE such as me building woood chairs for the fisrt time in my life which was really exhausting.

week#5 30 hours

Today I came in and they dint really have nothing to me to do so they had me an iris loooking for the best 10 quotes that teachers ahve wrote about 826 valencia so it can help them get donations. After they found something me to do and I had to climb a big latter whic led to the roof and it was kind of scary them unpack some boxes with shirts and sweatshirts for the pirate store they have there and fold them and put in place it was kind of har becaus eit was a lot of shirts but I finished the task. It was cool after all since up there it was cozy.

week #4 24 hours

Today It wasnt really good at my WlE which i had to build wood chairs from ikea lkike 10 of them I know it doesnt sound like a lot but my fingers where killing me and I felt like quiting. My ahnd where really sore for a while but i learned how to build chairs shich i would never think i was ever going to do it was a good expirience afterwards other than my hands and later i got to tutor 2 little girls and they where funny bt kind of bad sicne they where running aroudn i had fun by the end of the day.

Week # 3 18 hours

Today at My WLE i got to make phone calls to kids and other schools to confirm them about a workshop that was going on and I had to make a script befor i called people explaining what I was going to say it was kind of weird since I had to sound all proffesional. After that I helped Amy a girl who works there count how many feedback papers we got from each school that we had done workshops with that was cool too and I got to interact more with the people that worked there.Then 2 came and I toured some kids .

week 2- 12 hours

this is my second week at 826 valencia i really like it I come in at 10 whcih is not so early or to late and leave at 4 my favorite time was from 2 to 4 since thats when i got to to tutor the kids. Its fun to see the home work that I use to get like 10 years ago sicne they are kindergarden kids through 4th grade. A 7 years old girl Emily drew me a picture after I helped her with her homework which made me really happy.

WLE

Well I didnt have an internship at first so I had to ocme to school and look for one my advisor Sujata sujested Ill go to 826 Valencia and I asked her if they where taking Internships she said yeah my mentor Marrissa she was real nice introduced me to other people and I got a tutor internship. She told me my rpoject will be making a lessona nd teaching it to kids either about reading or writting. So she lend me a book clalled sont forget to write I went over it looked for a lesson plan INterrsted me and im going to be teaching it to the kids next Monday. What surprised me was how many kids go there there was a lot of kids and I was even tutoring 3 at a time with dioffrent homeworks that was kind of hard.
